Keep clients informed about their matter, and keep sensitive files out of email

Clients see where their matter stands, share documents securely and sign what's needed in a portal that shows each client only their own matters.

This is one way a law firm sets up its portal. Every page is a starting point: add, rename or drop pages with the AI page builder.

Anxious clients call, and documents travel by email

Clients want to know what's happening, and the documents involved are often sensitive. A portal gives them updates when they want them and keeps files in one controlled place, with a record of every change.

  • Today: Clients call to ask what's happening

With a portal: Clients see the stage their matter has reached

  • Today: Sensitive documents sent as email attachments

With a portal: Documents exchanged in the matter's own WorkDrive folder

  • Today: Authorisations printed, signed and posted back

With a portal: Clients sign in the portal with Zoho Sign

  • Today: No clear record of who changed what

With a portal: Every sign-in, upload and change in the audit log

What your clients see

A client's matter in the portal: where it stands, and what the firm needs from them next.

  • Follow the stages of their matter and what happens next
  • Upload and download documents in their own matter folder
  • Sign engagement letters and authorisations in the portal
  • See invoices and pay them online
Client portal: what your clients seeClient portal

The pages in this example

Each page shows information from one of your Zoho apps, filtered to that client.

Matter

From Zoho CRM

The stages of the matter and the key dates, from the matter record in Zoho CRM. You choose exactly which fields the client can see.

Documents

From Zoho WorkDrive

A folder for each matter. Clients upload what you ask for and download what you share, and only the people on that matter can open it.

To sign

From Zoho Sign

Engagement letters, authorisations and statements to sign, and everything already signed.

Invoices

From Zoho Books

Invoices and payments for each matter from Zoho Books, paid online from the portal.

How setup works

Our team works through each step with you, and keeps helping afterwards. Included on every plan.

  1. Connect Zoho

Connect Zoho CRM, WorkDrive, Sign and Books, and choose exactly which matter fields clients should see.

  2. Build the pages

Describe a matter page and a documents page to the AI page builder, then preview them as a client.

  3. Invite your clients

Invite clients matter by matter. Each one sees only the matters they're part of.

Questions law firms ask

How secure is it for confidential documents?

Each organisation's data is kept in its own database, every page is filtered to the client's own records before it reaches them, and every sign-in, change and export is written to the audit log. Two-factor sign-in comes with every plan, and SSO is available.

Can we hide internal notes on the matter?

Yes. You choose which fields and sections clients see, down to individual fields.

Can other parties, like co-counsel, have access?

Yes. Create a separate profile with its own pages and permissions, and they see only the matters they're added to.

Who sets it up?

Our team works through setup and onboarding with you, and keeps helping afterwards. It's included on every plan.
